AGM 2014 minutes

 

John Murfin opened the meeting.

Chairman, Secretary, Handicap Secretary and Treasurer were unopposed and remain as:

              John Murfin, Steve Hawcroft, Richard Harrison and Brian Hunt.

All 8 venues already booked. Laminated list handed out. These to be re-done with postcodes on for Sat Nav info.

Brian requested that all new members pass their mobile number onto him, also any member changing their own mobile number. Subs remain at £25 and are now due for this year.
New member Michael Jones. Returning members Gary Normanton & Chris Minnis.

All par 3 holes on 18 hole venue course to be part of nearest pin competition.

AGM 2013 minutes


John Murfin opened the meeting.

Chairman,secretary,handicap secretary and Treasurer were unopposed and remain as John Murfin,Steve Hawcroft, Richard Harrison and Brian Hunt.

Club funds stand at £363.00. Subs remain at £25.00. Prize money stands at £30.00,£20.00 and £10.00 for 1st,2nd and 3rd at each event. Presentations would be carried out at the golf course after each event due to people living away from the village.

It was agreed that events would try and be kept under £40.00. 

Sun Inn Golf Society website still has 1 year to run and we are also now on Facebook.

New member handicaps remain based on the honesty of the new member but would be no more than 24 to start with and then adjusted at the discretion of the handicap secretary at any time.

A number of venues were suggested for this year including Willow Valley,Wath, Bawtry,Normanton and Grange Park.

 John Murfin opened the meeting.

Chairman and Treasurer were unopposed and remain as John Murfin and Brian Hunt.

Handicap secretary was offered for nominees and Dave Lockwood was seconded but resigned 30 minutes later.

Richard Harrison was nominated and accepted for handicap secretary. It was agreed that Steve Hawcroft should take up the new position of Club secretary.

Club funds stood at £405.00

Subscriptions remain at £25.00 for new members and old members alike.

It was agreed that prize money would be at least the cost of the days golf event.

It was also agreed that after each event we should come back to the Sun Inn for presentations.

Winners of each event would no longer have an automatic 2 shots taken off their handicaps but 1 shot would be taken off anyone for every 3 points scored above their nominated handicaps.

Anyone scoring 2 consecutive 26 points or less would have their handicap reviewed at the discretion of the handicap secretary. The Handicap Secretary has the final say.

It was agreed that “The Sun Inn Golf Society” website should continue.

Any Golf Society venue would have a maximum price of £30.00 per round.

 Courses to be considered were Normanton, Hickleton, Forrest Pines, Fullford, Scarthingwell, Crookeridge Hall, Willow Valley,College Pines, Thryburgh, The Grange, Dewsbury.

New member handicaps would be based on the honesty of the new member but would be scrutinised by the handicap secretary at any time. No new member would be allowed to start on 28 handicap.

The Sports Relief challenge was dismissed due to lack of candidates.

 The AGM was officially closed by the Chairman.
